Wow!  I thought last year’s show was spectacular – Brisbane Fashion Runway 2018 was incredible!

I was thrilled to be hosting Brisbane’s most glamorous fashion event of the social calendar for the 2nd consecutive year.  BFR is in it’s 3rd year & the talent on the runway at the Tivoli was nothing short of sensational.  The red carpet was rolled out while the cameras flashed and the champagne flowed as eight emerging designers from Brisbane, Australia & beyond showcased their couture to a crowd of Brisbane’s most stylish.

I was feeling like an absolute queen wearing a stunning hot-pink dress by Ravish Couture, and dripping in diamonds from world-renowned Melbourne-based jewellery designers, Shannakian Fine Jewellery.  Their hand-crafted pieces are exquisite & I’m not sure how many times I felt around making sure they were all still there attached to my body so I could return them all in their entirety!  It was definitely an honour to have my look completed by them & I can’t wait to explore their collection further next time I’m back in my home town.  A special thanks to my friends at design studio Major Creative for once again helping to bring it all together & create my look for the evening (not to mention assist me with my limited mobility – yes, I had a leg brace & a walking cane – pink, to match my gown of course!)

Once again I was a guest at my favourite Brisbane Hotel, Tryp – in their newly designed courtyard rooms that did not disappoint!  The BFR crew & guests’ rooms all opened out to an adjoining courtyard, beautifully decorated to compliment the hotel’s edgy street-art theme.  Champagne, a cheese platter and chocolates were awaiting us all wrapped beautifully on our huge beds & it was tempting not to eat it all before the show (the choccies definitely went down well after the awesome after-party at the Boom Boom Room!)

A huge thanks to The Cut & Colour Room for doing my hair & Cherie Kelly for my fabulous makeup.  I most definitely had the dream team creating my look from head to toe this year!  And of course, hats off once again to BFR’s Directors, Amy Kauler & Tanya Bali – for without them the fabulous night & great opportunities for emerging designers would not exist.

Congratulations to BFR18’s winner, ia coca and runner up Moreno Marcos!

Here’s a selection of photos & some video of the night….

Hope to see you there next year!
