Last updated 20-03-2025
Upon engaging direct (non-agent booked) voice-over services with Jessica Stafford-Ewing (the voice artist), you (the client) agrees to the following terms and conditions:
Quotes and Fees
The voice artist will quote the client on the recording job.
The client assumes responsibility to pay the agreed price in the quote.
If the recording takes significantly longer due to additional requirements not addressed by the client, the voice artist is entitled to charge additional fees. The voice artist will notify the client upon the discovery of timing issues. Such issues include:
Script proof-reading/grammatical adjustments, collaboration with other creatives on the project, timing to animation, etc.
Live directed sessions attract additional charges and are subject to availability.
The voice artist does not charge GST in Australia.
Any additional charges such as VAT, customs, additional contractor fees and other charges imposed by a third party shall be borne by the client.
Deliverables & Usage
Recorded files will be delivered to the client with an audio watermark. Watermark-free files will be delivered once payment is received in full.
Not until the recording is paid in full* shall the client obtain the permanent usage rights. Non-payment may result in the retraction of the usage rights.
Artificial Intelligence & IP
The voice artist does not use AI to create any vocal recordings
All audio (and visual) performance including samples, demos and auditions are property of the voice artist.
The client (and public) is prohibited from using the voice artist’s property in any capacity for Artificial Intelligence. A standard AI Rider will be included in all contracts.
Billing & Payments
Billing to the customer will be made through a sales invoice, delivered online (via Xero).*
Payment is required no later than 7 days from the date of the invoice.
Late payment fees may incur a 5% per week (or part there of) administration charge.
* Where the client would prefer to pay through a guaranteed/upfront escrow arrangement and have access to the watermark-free files immediately upon completion, the agreement and billing can be made through Upwork. The voice artist will supply the contract and send via Upwork. The client must have an active Upwork account. Addiotnal fees apply for contracts on Upwork. Please contact the voice artist to discuss this option.
Re-recordings
Unless agreed upon prior, 1 order equals 1 style or version of a recording.
Any amendments to the script after the recording, will incur a similar charge as the original fee, dependant on changes required.
Different versions or styles required after the initial recording, will incur the same fee as the original.
Errors made by the voice artist will be amended without further cost to the client. Errors include:
Pronunciation errors (despite supplied pronunciation direction), failure to deliver in the style indicated by the client, errors in post-production work, such as file splitting, file naming, etc.
Retakes and text amendments will be accepted for up to 1 month after delivery. Fees apply as above.
Delays
The voice artist strives to deliver all recordings in a timely manner. In the unlikely event that a recording is not delivered within the timeframe advised, the client may not claim damage caused by delay for late deliveries or services.
Cancellations and Booking Fees
If a live session booking is cancelled less than 24 hours before it was due to take place, the voice artist is entitled to charge a booking fee. The fee cannot be higher than 50% of the value of the quoted order.
